Bristol Caverns

The beautiful Bristol Caverns are a site that you don't want to miss. These caverns were formed over 200 to 400 million years ago. The Caverns are located far beneath the Earth's surface and are well lighted and have walkways that work their way through all the vaulted chambers.

In the days of the frontier, the Native Americans would use the Underground River as an attack and escape route on their raids. As you walk through the caverns you are walking through the same areas as those warriors.

In the cave, there are Stalactites and stalagmites with some as large or larger than tree trunks and others as small as a pen. Some of these formations have turned into huge columns expanding from floor to ceiling. It is a remarkable place and all of it is solid stone.

The color that the minerals that the caverns that have reflected off are the beautiful colors in the rainbow and colors that are not in the rainbow. Colors such as red, grey, blue, sparkling white, and brown. The formations that they form are also very extravagant.
